The sweet has as its main ingredient the fruit of the papilona ( it reminds the fruit quince) . It is made during the winter period when this fruit is ripe.


  • 1  kg of papylona
  • 1 kg of sugar
  • Water (until the fruits and sugar are covered)


We peel the papylona.

Cut it into 4 or 6 pieces, depending on its size.

For 3 days put the pieces, which we cut in a basin of water to take off the biiter taste. We change water twice a day.

After the 3 days have passed, we try and if they are not bitter, we start to make the sweet. If they are still bitter, we repeat the process.

Put the papylona in a large pot and add 1kg of sugar and enough water to cover the ingredients.

Boil until the syrup isready (about 1 hour).

Once our syrup is ready, pour 4-5 drops of lemon.

We remove the pot from the kitchen. Let the sweet to cool.

Place it in jars that are airtight.
